TB-HIV Innovations and Clinical Research
We conduct clinical trials and have a close relationship with the community governmental and public health leaders and the regional and local health offices in Cavite province. We have been a TB REACH Wave 6 grantee for an implementation study on VDOT for adherence with MDR-TB treatment. The results of this pilot project have informed new approaches to technology-assisted approaches to adherence with TB treatment in the Philippines and worldwide.
We have just been granted a TB REACH Wave 11 award to implement an integrated service delivery of active case finding for TB and the diagnosis and treatment of chronic lung disease among the underserved public utility vehicle drivers in Cavite.
History
The THINCR started in TB Research Unit of DLSMHSI Center for TB Research
It was identified as an ACTG protocol specific site in 2016 and a full CRS in 2020
Since then, we have collaborated with other funding mechanisms such as USAID TB REACH, Johnson and Johnson Quickfire, Gates MRI, TB Alliance, and TB Research Advancement Center-Emory (TRAC-Emory)
In 2024, the site became a separate organization/entity
Mission
To become a site management organization that will implement Advancing Clinical Therapeutics Globally (ACTG) as well as non-ACTG trials with the highest standard.
Vision
To be a center for excellence for clinical trials in the Philippines as well as in South East Asia.
